Usha has been exposed to working with a diverse population and is focused on helping people facilitate their own change. She enjoys working with and shaping novices in the mental health field. Part of Usha's interests includes working with young adults, families and couples and sharing mental health information using a community-based platform. Alice Lim is a registered counselor with the Malaysian Board of Counselor (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia) since 2009. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from National University of Malaysia (UKM). She has worked with mental illness rehabilitation clients back in 2005 at Malaysian Mental Health Association. She has been working at educational institution for more than 10 years, performing administration duties, and practicing counseling.

She has attended further trainings in Expressive Art Therapy under Module REST, Dianetic Therapy in Crisis & Trauma Intervention, and a certified hypnotherapist from the Indonesian Board of Hypnotherapy. She has worked with juvenile delinquency & teenager pregnancy, families, survivors of suicide and university students as to date, who struggles with variety aspects of life challenges. 

Alice’s counseling approach is befriending and assist them to express their issues in a nonjudgmental manner. She emphasizes in giving emotional support to those who are going through a tough time, helping to re-frame their stories and to instill positive self-talk. Alice provides mental health counseling and speaks about issues relating to mental well being. She also facilitates group counseling and gives soft skills workshops in the campus. 

Alice is actively involved with special needs children issue. She is an active committee member under Women’s Bureau in the Lotus Violet neighborhood. Despite her busy schedule, she finds comfort and taking care of her own mental health in doing edible gardening with her green thumb.
